Cheng Shin C637 Road Tire 27 x 1-1/4" Wire Bead Gumwall

Cheng Shin C637 Road Tire 27 x 1-1/4" Wire Bead Gumwall

Tires

I've had a good experience with these tires so far. I rode 12 miles to downtown on them this weekend and 12 miles back, and they held up pretty well. Thanks, Andrew

cheng shin

i actually bought the black wall tire{90 psi). used it all summer on a classic nishiki 10 sp. 27x11/4" rim. comfortable, fast ride on those old 27" tires - i don't know why they changed. i like niagara bike works.

Sprintech Road Bicycle Drop Bar Mirror

Sprintech Road Bicycle Drop Bar Mirror

Almost perfect!

These are really good except they tend to make a low dull vibrating sound on less than smooth asphalt and I do have to readjust every once in a while again on less than perfectly smooth roads. I actually only use one of them on my bike, but couldn't resist getting the pair at a great price in case I loose one or someone else wants to buy it off of me!

Not too bad

Pros: - Very easy to install, pops right in. - Looks pretty cool, gotten many compliments - It's adjustable like regular mirrors - It works ok (better than nothing!) Cons: - Mirror has a tendency to move around on rough terrain no matter how hard it was pushed into drop bar. - "Objects in mirror are much closer then they appear" - other words, things are super tiny, hard to see how far a car is behind you.

Perfect!

Got this mirror over a year ago and installed it on my bike. I recently got a new bike and when I started riding it, I could not believe how much I miss the mirror! It is easy to install, it's out of the way and it allows for a great backward view due to the slightly convex mirror. When I first got it, I was expecting it to interfere with my knee or my leg interfering with the backward visibility...not the case at all. I have recommended it to all my friends and will purchase another for my second bike. I only have the left mirror and haven't felt a need for the right side one.

Mongoose 20-Inch Gravity Games BMX Freestyle Bike (Gunmetal)

mediocre for the price

i bought this bike when it was on sale for 119 dollars which is a more fitting price. it holds up great but the brake pads are horrible but other than that it holds up great. i would not choose the free s&h because mine came with a few dings. in summary great bike, needs a few improvements, watch for the dings.

Blackburn Trakstand Fluid Indoor Bicycle Trainer

Blackburn Trakstand Fluid Indoor Bicycle Trainer

TRAINER

Good product, on time, Im getting used to it, not exactly like riding on the road..

Know what you may encounter

The Blackburn Trakstand was great for about 1 month, afterwhich the spindle holder started to separate and had to be continually adjusted. The trainer is not quiet by any means though it does give a true road-like ride. Riding on a road is much quieter. The unit does not come with any information as to what to do about troubleshooting. Due to the expense and the ongoing mentioned problems with the trainer, I would not buy anything from this company without being able to see it and or test it first. If they could work out the "kinks" it would be a great trainer.

Blackburn Fluid Trainer

This is a good product, when you use it you can fell it working in your legs. It is good to be able to ride your bike in the comfort of your living room when you can't ride outside. The only bad points of the trainer would be it is a bit noisy and the instructions are hard to understand. It is good value for money and has a strong support stand.

Cateye TL-LD1000 LED Bicycle Tail and Safety Light (Red)

Cateye TL-LD1000 LED Bicycle Tail and Safety Light (Red)

3 years and still going strong!

This little light has worked great for me for over three years now -- has nice front and side flashers, but like one of the other reviewers commented, it's definitely a bit on the bulky side.

Great at first then becomes nearly useless

I was impressed by the brightness of this light and also liked the fact that there was some illumination on both ends. The problem was that after a couple months of use, the light would stop working in the middle of a ride. Since it is a tail light, it is hard to stop and monitor it all the time, so for significant amounts of time I would be riding with my primary flasher not functioning. NOT GOOD. Since the other reviewer had the same problem with 2 units, that I had with mine, it does seem that they didn't get the bugs worked out of this product before selling it. In addition, if you mount the light on the seatpost horizontally, it is wide enough your legs will probably strike it. Mounting it vertically is difficult unless you have other brackets available. I'd recommend you pass on this light.

GREAT when it works. But does it have a design flaw?

When it's working properly, the TL-LD1000 is unarguably the BEST rear bicycle light available. I know because I've tried quite a few, including other Cateye models. The light is essentially two very bright, independently controllable, 3-LED taillights in a single package. So, for example, I set the bottom triad of LEDs to blink and the upper triad to strobe back-and-forth. Both of the independently controllable lights are readily visible throughout a wide vertical and horizontal axis. But note that I'm on my second TL-LD1000. And so I now find myself wondering if the light suffers from a fundamental design flaw. The first TL-LD1000 I bought lasted a bit less than a year of regular use before it begin to spontaneously extinguish itself in response to normal road bumps. For a while a sharp slap would restore the light to operation, but the condition deteriorated: The light remained operational for a shorter period after each slap. In response, I tried new batteries. I tried cleaning the battery contacts with a cotton swap and alcohol. I tried wrapping the batteries with some stretchy foam to help hold them tightly in place. None of those steps helped. So after an email exchange with Cateye, I sent my malfunctioning light in and the company promptly replaced it with a new one. I've used my second TL-LD1000 for just a bit less than a year, and now it too is spontaneously extinguishing itself and I'm once again slapping it to restore it to operation. So, I would encourage other TL-LD1000 users to report on how reliably their light has worked and for how long. As I said, it's an EXCELLENT tail light when it works. But from the standpoint of the light's long-term reliability, my experience has been zero-for-two...

Cheng Shin C1218 Street Tire, 26 x 2.125"

Cheng Shin C1218 Street Tire, 26 x 2.125"

Nice tires.

These tires are great "street tire" replacements for mountain bike knobby tires. These are still big, fat tires, which would also be right at home on a cruiser bike. I was thinking they would be a bit skinnier, but maybe that's just me. The picture makes then look rounder than the two that I was sent. Mine are almost rectangular on my wheels. BIG FAT TIRES!

Great deal for some street rubber

Tread is thick and sticks to the pavement. I couldn't ask for more of a sub $10 tire to double duty with my knobbies.

Great street tires!

These tires were mounted up on a wheelset used for city riding and commuting on my Bianchi Mutt. After a season of fulfilling their purpose, I have to say they are great tires, especially for the money. For about a third the cost of the Maxxis city tires, or half the cost of most city tires these tires do everything equally well. The thick tread resists cuts and abrasions, there is far greater rolling resistance than running knobbies (as evidenced by the lack of road buzz) down the street. The also look cool. Some tires just have a cool look to them... these qualify. I wouldn't mind having a fender to ride the bike when it's wet out... the cohesion of water on the essentially slick surface ends up flinging the water halfway up my back... after learning the hard way, I just take my singlespeed with fenders those days! Great tires that should last a long time for a great price. Haven't heard of Cheng Shin Tires? Well, you'll see the brand on a lot of entry level and department store bikes... don't let that discourage you though! There is a lot of hype and gimmickry to tires of all types. Cheng Shin makes tires for a LOT of brands... yes, even some of those well known brands. If you aren't looking for brand recognition & prestige and just want a tough city tire that happens to look good, these are an excellent choice.

Ok tires.

Got these, and they seem nice, were inexpensive, but ended up putting hookworms on my bike.

Good deal

These tires are great for the price. As a functional tire to ride my mountain bike around town/campus, they're a super deal.

Spider-Man 3 Bike - Blue (16")

Spider-Man 3 Bike - Blue (16")

My Son Loves IT!!

Well, I have to say that My 4 year old son LOVES this bike. There were a few minor defaults to it. The rims for the tires are a little bent, and the handle brake doesn't stay connected the way it's stupposed to. I decided it's not that big of a deal since my son is too little to really use it anyway. There have been a couple of other things that we've had to keep an eye on and tighten up again, but other than those few things it's not bad. He enjoys it, so I'm not going to worry too much.

A very good buy for your little Spidey

Like a lot of other buyers, the 16" Spiderman Bicycle was a Christmas gift for my three and a half-year old son. And also like a lot of other buyers, I am frequently anxious about assembling toys on Christmas eve. (I remember a fateful Christmas about seven years ago when I put together a battery powered Barbie Jeep. Yikes!) Although I did encounter one, minor problem, the degree product satisfaction is overwhelmingly positive. First, the product was extremely easy to assemble. Ingeniously designed, I wondered why other manufacturers could not make their own products this simple! There are only a handful of parts that need to be fastened, including the front wheel, the seat, the handle bars, the brake connection on the right grip, and the Spiderman "shield" on the front. I think I only needed an adjustable wrench and a scissors to trim the zip ties for the shield. The bike was together and next to the tree in a matter of minutes. Next, the price was right. The Amazon.com list price was $69.99. I did not shop the price around because it was so simple for me to "One-Click" order and have the bike delivered with the other gifts I ordered that I simply appreciated the convenience and left it alone. That aside, the bike is a good quality and a good value. If my son uses the bike for only three or four years, which will be the time he'll be due for an upgrade, the bike will only cost me about $20 per year! Finally, the little man loves it - and that's the most important thing for me. Although it's really too cold to ride it much outside now, that has not stopped him from enjoying it anyway. He just rides it around the stairs and the load-bearing walls from the kitchen to the hallway to the foyer through the living room and back to the kitchen...every day ten times a day! My only complaint about the 16" Spiderman Bicycle relates to the hand brakes. Another creative feature is the inclusion of both a hand brake and a traditional foot brake. The foot brake works just fine, but I have found the pads that stop the wheel for the hand brake difficult to adjust and tighten. And, that's only a "small fly in butter" for an otherwise great product. In all, it's a very good buy for your little Spidey!

Planet Bike Blaze 1/2-Watt Blaze LED Bicycle Light with Helmet and QuickCam Mounts

Planet Bike Blaze 1/2-Watt Blaze LED Bicycle Light with Helmet and QuickCam Mounts

great light, at a great price.

I was really impressed by the scope and brightness of this light, on the first night...and have come to love it even more, over a few weeks. It not only produces a strong and broad beam, but the battery life is quite long. I am a bike-commuter, and rely on my lights everyday. this one has not failed me yet, and it even got left on the bike in a couple of rainstorms. I just replaced the original batteries after 6 or 7 weeks of daily use.

Bicycling lights matter

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/review/R33TK6T4XQNSDT">Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R33TK6T4XQNSDT</a> This little light does it all and doesn't hog batteries. Small, easily mounted, very bright with directed light. I gave it four stars not for this light, but for the engineers at Planet Bike..the 1 watt LED...is about the same price but with twice the illumination potential...only trouble is...the 1 watt does NOT have "blinking" capacity. As a cyclist, you want all your lights to have a steady mode and a blink mode..which is why I bought this. You can see the pics yourselves. It's a very good light. Highly recommended.

Wow, a very good light

I'm the type of guy who rides a bike every night and for the first time I feel like I found the perfect light ever. It's very small and lite weight. It has one LED light which is bright but not too bright. If you were going to go really fast in the dark, you wouldn't be able to see everything with this light but it is good enough for people to see you at a very far distances. The part that I love about this led light is that it only needs 2 AA batteries. So far I been riding for weeks and haven't had to change them yet, unlike my old light which needed 4 AA batteries and only last up one week. If you're looking for a light that doesn't take too a lot of power but still gives a strong light beam I would have to say that this is the one to get

Its ok....

The power of the light is actually quite weak. Its bright in dark places but in lighted areas the beam of light is deluted. The light only provides a beam of light so don't expect it to light up the whole street. On the plus side, if your use of the light is to get notice by motorist, this IS a good light. It provides excellent visibility for motorist.

planet bike blaze light

bright enough for commuting around town. the flash mode is a nice feature, & probably makes you more visible, while saving battery life. affordable, compact, easy to use. the negatives are with the helmet mounting: straps are not long enough to span 2 helmet slots, & the system does not have a swivel to adjust the angle.

Kettler Seatbelt 3 Point Harness Seatbelt

Kettler Seatbelt 3 Point Harness Seatbelt

Must have for wiggly toddlers

We got this seatbelt to use on our daughter's new Air Navigator tricycle we gave her for her 2nd birthday. Since she's still a little small for the tricycle, we use it every time she rides to keep her from sliding forward off the seat as she tries to reach the pedals. And when walking to the park, it's good that she can't wiggle off the side as well. I wish it was included with the tricycle, but well worth the additional $$ to keep the child in place and safe.

Great idea from Kettler . . .

When we first bought the air navigator, our then 2 year old kept trying to get off the trike - and we walk around on lots of city streets. So, we ordered a seat belt, which was very easy to put on. The seat belt keeps him on the trike, thus making us feel a little safer knowing he cannot get off and bolt into the street. Please do not turn your back even with the seat belt affixed the the seat and your child. The belt is a nice safety feature, but really is a mere deterrent for your little escape artist :)

Kettler Seatbelt

This is a must have for little ones to ride the Kettler trikes. My son is one and he couldn't ride the bike without it!

MUST HAVE

This is a must have since my kid is only 13 months old. He loves the trike, but Kettler should include this with their $200 trike! Paying $200 for the trike and then another $20 for the seat belt is ridiculous.

Seatbelt

This product is fairly easy to attach to the seat;however, if you try to put it on after the trike is already assembled, you have to remove the seat in order to attach it.

Planet Bike Beamer 1 and Blinky 3 LED Bicycle Light Set

Planet Bike Beamer 1 and Blinky 3 LED Bicycle Light Set

Great value, nice featured light set.

This set uses normal AA and AAA batteries, unlike other sets out there. Beamer 1 (front): Easy to mount to handlebars with included mount. Also easy to remove as a flashlight. Uses two included AA batteries. Blinky 3 (rear): Excellent rear light with 3 LEDs. Uses two included AAA batteries. With included mounts, it attaches to the seat post or to a thin rear frame. Unlike the front light, the rear acts as a reflector when turned off. When you want to remove it for security, it's just a click and a slide, and it turns into a clip light, similar to a belt clip. For some reason, one click on the front light sets it to blink, and two clicks is a steady light. It's the opposite for the rear light. Oops!

Sturdy contruction but not very bright

I thought this light would suffice for my short ride home from work every night but its has a much more limited scope than I was expecting. If I could do it again, I would have splurged for a bigger light. Works great and has sturdy construction but is definitely the minimum you need for night riding.

Easy to install, works well

I purchased this light set because front/rear lights are a legal requirement to ride at night in the city where I live. The set was very easy to install and works well. The set uses standard AA and AAA batteries, which can be purchased at any store. If I were doing serious night riding out in the country or on dark trails I would probably look for a brighter headlight....but this works just fine for me in the city.

works well

I've been really happy with these lights. I the front light is bright enough for an average suburban road, and I like the blinking function on the back light. I haven't used them long enough to judge if the battery length is as long as they say, but so far I've had no problems. The bracket for the tail light was strange, I never did figure out how it was supposed to work, but I just skipped the bracket entirely and used the clip that was attached to the light. The clip seems sturdy enough by itself. Overall I'm very happy with them and it was the best price I found around.

innexpensive, but cheap

The tail-light is great. The headlight is not. The headlight is bright, but the clamp consistently comes loose and allows the light to move around and point in all directions. Poorly designed clamp.

OnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable

OnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable

got a lemon

After careful research, I found this lock to be the best value -- strong and well-priced. I sent it to my son at college. After using it for a few days, he was unable to open it for a few days in a row, he said. Then one day he got it to work. He used it for a few days and then he could not open it when he stuck the key in again. It was just jambed shut. After about two weeks of trouble, he bought another lock. I am not sure if he just got a lemon or if there is an inherent problem with this lock.

Nice lock, with a good price, tumblers needed graphite....

Nice U bolt lock and short cable for the money. Added lock graphite powder to the lock because the pin tumblers seemed dry. The key is keyed so it will only slide in one way, i.e it is not symmetrical. Used fingernail polish to mark one side of the key and marked the side of the lock near keyhole so I could tell how to insert it.

bicycle locks

OnGuard PitBull MINI DT 5008 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable Best and easiest lock to use.

OnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable

One couldn't ask for a more versetile bike lock. The extra security cable makes all of the difference in the world. When locking one's bike to something other than a standard bike rack; the extra security cable is most convenient.

Excellent and won't get the bike stolen.

Ok, so the bike it guards is almost 15 years old, and this is a bit of overkill, but it's my bike!!! This is about as much protection as you could possibly need unless you live in downtown DC or the Bronx.

Topeak JoeBlow Max II Floor Bike Pump

Topeak JoeBlow Max II Floor Bike Pump

Pretty good

I ran out to buy this pump after using one belonging to a friend. I really loved it because it makes inflating your tube so easy - no need to crank down hard on the handle. Unfortunately, about a year later, it failed to inflate the tube at all. I took it back to the bike store and they told me that after a year this is a common problem with this pump. Oh well. Now I'm debating whether to get another one or try something different.

great buy

I haven't used this product for too long, but it has definately done the job. It's lightweight, durable and multi-functional. I'd recommend it.

Works great, no complaints

What can I really say, its a bike pump, and it works fine. Have used it with presta and schrader valves and have had no problems with it.

Joe Blows

This product was delivered promptly and works perfectly with my prester valve tyres. I recommend it.

Works great

The floor pump works great. I regularly use it to fill my bike tires upto 80psi. The pump also comes with attachment to use the pump on volleyballs which is cool.

Radio Flyer Big Flyer

Radio Flyer Big Flyer

Big Flyer - Big Hit

Purchased for my son's fourth birthday. He loves it. Rides all the time and is the envy of other kids that see him on it (must be the first in town to own one). Was easy to assemble and seems durable (but we only have it for a month). Wish the tire included a rubber band, but otherwise happy with the choice. Price was best at time of purchase.

Misleading bike description

I bought this for my 3 year old son who has always been considered tall for his age and he still can't ride this darn bike because his feet can't reach the pedal when he tries to ride it. The description of the bike says for 36 months but my son is now 3.5 years old and still can't ride this bike. Very frustrating....plus he says the seat hurts his back. Very disappointed in overall purchase of this bike.

Radio Flyers

Great product as I knew it would be. I ordered two, and the kids LOVE them!!! Shipping was very quick.

great product

I thought my kid was going to use it more but he's hesitant because of the uncomfortable seat position, I guess he'll get used to it

daycare kids loves this bike

I buy these kind of bikes because my daycare kids love them and there great excercise and it get them active and busy outside.

InStep Safari Swivel Double Jogging Stroller

InStep Safari Swivel Double Jogging Stroller

Easy rider

This product is great for a little one and an older one! Very easy to steer but needs lots of add ons for cups, bags, etc. Love the color choices.

Great stroller except for sun shade!

I have had this stroller about a year. Its movement is really smooth and easy to turn. I am so happy I got the swival front wheel that can also be locked. Before I had my second son, I had the same version in the single, without the swival wheel. I could only use it for jogging because it was such a pain to turn. There is only one major problem with this stroller. The sun shade doesn't extend out far enough to block the sun. My 10 month old is always screaming because the sun is in his eyes & I worry about them getting too much sun. I tried to put a blanket over the top but I had to keep stopping to replace it because both boys thought it was funny to pull it down. I thought maybe they made an extension for it but can't find one online. Other than that it is a really great stroller.

Great double stroller!

We've looked for a long time for a quality double job stroller for a decent price and this one was a GREAT choice. It glides smoothly and my 3 month old and 2.5 year old love it! They sit comfortably and are able to look around while we walk. I have to walk 2 dogs (including a 70lb boxer!) while I push the stroller and its worked great so far.

doesn't fit through old subway doors!!!

I am very pleased with this product. it is our only stroller, we use it for our baby twins but when we've been outside for a long time and our 2 year old son is tired we let him on one of his brother places, while the baby is carried in a baby carrier. And he takes a long nap in it! unfortunatelly it doesn't pass throught the old wooden doors in the subway (brooklyn). it is aprox. an inch larger. so...don,t buy it if you don't owe a car. otherwise...it's perfect, unexpensive, sturdy...

Great for the price, but needs more shade

I've had this stroller for about a month and it's really nice. I wish the canopy was larger for more sun protection coverage. It just barely provides shade and this is only when the sun is above the stroller. It isn't effective when the sun shines into the stroller. I keep looking for a good sun protection accessory (that actually works), but haven't been successful. Would like to see InStep offer an additional sun protection solution. I do really like the stroller. I couldn't see buying a more expensive stroller instead with the hopes that the shade/sun canopy was better. That's a pricey risk!

Nalgene Wide Mouth Loop-Top Bottles

Nalgene Wide Mouth Loop-Top Bottles

Perfect size, Great quality

I love this waterbottle! I use it every day, and it fits in all cupholders perfectly. It is very good quality and helps to keep your drink colder. But I think the thing I like best about it is it doesn't pick up odors from foods if you leave it in the sink with dirty dishes or throw it in the dishwasher!

Love this bottle!

This bottle is great! It is a perfect size to take to the gym.

Gray Lexan Wide Mouth bottle

The bottle is durable, and a good size. Its also easy to carry around, much easier than those big nalgene bottles. Good for travel, at work, or at school. Im pleased with the product.

Great Design

This Nalgene is a great size--not big and bulky like the 32 oz bottles. The mouth is just as wide, though, preventing the "glug, glug, glug" effect of smaller mouths when full. It fits in virtually every cup holder.

Razor V-17 Youth Multi-Sport Helmet (Black Gloss)

I just bought this helmet, and I couldn't believe how comfortable it was. It make s me feel safe when I wear it, and it's not itchy or anything. I strongly suggest you buy A razor V-17 Youth helmet, if you choose to buy a helmet.

Nice helmet, too small for my 10 year old

It looks like a very nice helmet and inexpensive too, but it is too small for my 10 year old. Maybe he just has a big head, I don't know, but he prefers my Bell helmet and didn't want to wear this one, he thought it was very tight and uncomfortable.

Great product for the price

for the price this is a great product, shipping was fast, now if I could just keep him in it, its lightweight so I thought it would be better for him since he normally refuses to wear one, we are not accustomed to wearing helmets being from a small town in the country,

Good helmet

fits snug, there is an extra foam piece that helps the helmet fit snugger since my son is only 10 yrs old.

Multi-Sport Helmet

This Razor youth helmet is great. It fits my daughters head perfect and is easy to adjust. She thinks it is way more comfortable than her bike helmet as we never seem to get the bike helmet to fit properly. You will be satisfied with this helmet. Patti

Topeak Modula Cage Waterbottle Cage

Topeak Modula Cage Waterbottle Cage

Handy Bottle holder

Works well to adapt to different size bottles. Handy if you forget your normal bottle and have to use bottled water. The adjustment screw dousn't seem very tight, but so far hasn't loosened up while I was riding

Very simple - easy to install

This is a good bottle cage. It installed very easily, has an easy-to-adjust screw to set the width of the bottle opening, and securely holds the bottle. The cage doesn't "spring" to allow for the bottle to come-out more easily, but I think this is better: there's less risk of having your bottle fall-out.

Great!

Great water bottle cage. It adjusts to allow bigger bottles by a little knob on the bottom you can turn looser or tighten for smaller bottles. Easy to install, all you need is the two little screws that screw onto the frame of the bike. It doesn't come with the screws though but most bikes have them already. If all you have are two holes there, then you'll have to find/buy the correct screws to install. Hope this helps future purchasers!

fits better for larger bottles

wasn't able to adjust it small enough to completely secure a 0.5L disposable water bottle. the bottle would stay in the cage but loose.

Great Product!

Easy to install, great for sports bottles of varying sizes. It does not hold the smaller/normal water bottles that well. They jiggle a lot while in the holder. So, if you are planning on getting a water bottle (I got the Polarized 22 OZ and it fits perfectly) then this is def worth it. If you were planning on just putting thinner bottles, maybe not the best for you!

Topeak Explorer Bike Rack

Topeak Explorer Bike Rack

Great Pack Rack

This is my 4th rack I carry 2 planners and a trunk bag on top. When I go to the food stores they ask me are you going to carry all this on your bike ? I carry a lot of weight on this rack. Some times I take trips 45 miles about 4hrs. Up and down hills I have had not one squeak or rattle! It is truly made to carry what ever I have put on it! (My cad.bike I purchased on this site, great bike Also because it has double wall rims so I can carry more than most bikes) For me I would give this Rack 5 Wheels out of 5

Great Bike Rack

This rack fits and looks great on my bike. It doesn't rattle or get in the way, and is light enough so that I hardly know it's there. The instructions were a bit basic, but then it's only a bike rack. I think it took me about 20 minutes to install.

Works great on my bike

I was very worried about the rack not fitting my mountain bike, cuz i imagined I had a larger bike than other people writing reviews. I'm 5'10'' and my bike fits me fine, and the rack fits the bike. i needed a few basic tools that i already had, and it was easy. 15 min installation.

Tools that I used to install

The other reviewers really cover the quality of this product. The installation was a snap. The hardest part was bending the support arms to exactly the right angle, but even that wasn't difficult at all. I'm glad that I had 5MM allen wrench, a 5/16 crescent wrench, and two pair of pliers (to bend the support arms). If your bike already has the threaded holes on the arms below the seat post and on the fork by the back tire you shouldn't have any problem at all.

Topeak Explorer Bike Rack

I recently purchased an entry-level Schwinn bike to ride to work and to run errands in the face of $4 a gallon gas. I bought this rack because I liked the idea of the bags that slide and lock into place. It took about half an hour to install this rack on my bike. My seat post was pre-tapped but at an odd angle, so I had to bend the silver brackets slightly. Once attached it is solid, I have been riding about ten miles a day for the past week with it and I harldy notice it is there. I have not tested the 55 pound weight limit yet but I bought one of the smaller bags with no panniers. This is a great everyday rack, especially for this novice.

Planet Bike Beamer 5 LED Bicycle Light with Quick Cam Bracket Mount

Planet Bike Beamer 5 LED Bicycle Light with Quick Cam Bracket Mount

Nice and bright

I really enjoy this light, but feel like I could use a second. I know a lot of people here in Portland who only use this as their front bike light and it works great: nice and bright. For the price, I really don't think that it can be beat. That said, however, it could use to have a bigger face to make the light spread a little larger and be cut farther open on the sides so cars approaching laterally can see the biker more easily. Still, it's a great light!

..good, but some flaws

I agree about the lights not being very bright with rechargeable batteries, although I haven't tried alkalines. They are bright enough to be seen, and to ride in the city, but if one wanders away from city lights and there isn't any moonlight to be found, one must be very careful about not running off of a path or running over road debris. Also, another comment noted that the bracket not being tight enough - I have also found this an issue. When I go over big bumps, the light falls forward. Other Planet Bike stuff is excellent, but this leaves a bit to be desired. Edit: Tried new alkalines versus charged ni-mh batteries. The alkalines were substantially brighter. I guess the .3 volts per battery makes a (big)difference.

Great Bicycle Headlight

The Planet Bike Beamer 5 LED headlight is a great product. The Quick Cam attachment to the handlebar is very clever. In addition there is a button you can press and slide the light off of the bracket. I live in Staten Island, New York and I take my lights off when I go in to a store. Changing the battery is really easy. It should be that way for all products. I can't comment on the battery life, but I'm using Rechargeable AA Batteries anyway. I use the flashing function around dusk and aim it up higher when I have to ride towards the traffic. This light replaced an old Generator & light set so needless to say the amount of light it puts off it astonishing! This is a really well designed and constructed product. I would recomment it very highly.

Works Great. And the Price is Great Too

This is a durable little headlight which is sufficient for my needs. I'm a casual bike rider who sometimes runs out of sunlight. This little light is fine for making me visible to others and helping me find my way home.

Best LED Bicycle Light

I think this is the best bicycle light we can buy it at common sport store. Some people love to argue that HID headlight is much better that this thing; however, u gotta compare the price also. u may need to spend at least $250 for HID but only $20 for this little headlight. Very simple installation. It doesn't like HID, u don't need to connect to an extensional battery. The light is really brighter than the one (use light bulbs) I bought from cheap cheap "always onsale" store. The light is absolutely bright enough to make people see u. but if u really wanna have brighter effect like the car's headlight with a "light shadow" on ground, u should put 2 headlights together. I did that also

Planet Bike 3034-1 Blinky Superflash .5 Watt LED with 2 Red LED Tail Lights (Black/Clear Case)

Planet Bike 3034-1 Blinky Superflash .5 Watt LED with 2 Red LED Tail Lights (Black/Clear Case)

GREAT BUY - GET 1 OR 2

FLAT OUT - THIS IS A GREAT LIGHT TO HAVE. YOU CAN MOUNT IT ON VARIOUS PARTS OF THE BIKE WITH A LITTLE IMAGINATION AND ADDITIONAL MOUNTING BRACKET (NOT JUST THE SEAT POST). YOU CAN MOUNT IT ON THE FRAME OF CERTAIN BIKES LIKE ROAD BIKES/HYBRIDS LEAVING ROOM FOR BAGS, FENDERS, WATER BOTTLES, ETC ON THE SEAT POST. THE ONLY MINOR COMPLAINT FOR ME IS THE MOUNTING BRACKET NOT BEING QUICK RELEASE BUT I CAN LIVE WITH THAT FOR THE QUALITY OF LIGHT YOU GET PLUS THE LIGHT DOES COME OFF WITH A RELEASE SYSTEM LEAVING THE BRACKET IN PLACE. IT IS VERY BRIGHT WITH 2 MODES - BLINKING AND ON. PEOPLE WILL SEE YOU UNLESS THEY ARE BLIND OR THEY ARE OUT TO GET YOU - LOL. IT CAME WITH BATTERIES AND I'M STILL USING THE ONES IT CAME WITH AFTER MONTHS OF USE. THIS LIGHT COST TWICE AS MUCH IN THE BIKE SHOPS. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS ITEM 5 STARS IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE MOUNTING BRACKET. MAYBE THE NEW VERSION WILL BE QUICK RELEASE. ALL IN ALL THIS IS A VERY GOOD DEAL

Best Tail Light for the money

I have to say that for the money this is the best light available. It is blinding at night. My first night ride with this light people couldn't believe how much light this put out! This is a "be seen" light! I love it!

To be seen...

Planet Bike 3034-1 Blinky Superflash .5 Watt LED with 2 Red LED Tail Lights (Black/Clear Case) Great tail light for your bike for a good price... Look up some videos at YouTube if you don't believe how great it is. I recommment it to everyone who rides a bike. Sometimes I clip it to my backpack to make sure cars see me in the evening/night when walking at places without pavement. To make sure... this is a red LED light, not a white one, it just has clear case. I also bought the one in red case (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KBEH1W) and it works and looks the same (except the different color of the case). One is for my bro... I'm very satisfied... 5 stars!

Blinky is the best

I've tried several tail lights for my commuting these last three years. This is by far the best. It's super bright and has the craziest blinking pattern out there - the two most valuable trails for any light that might save you from getting hit from behind. It's very light and at less than $20 is a bargain. If you're looking for a tail light, this is the one to buy.

Distractingly bright

I have this light and the Mars 3.0. Both have great visibility all around, but Superflash is brighter. The blinking pattern is very attention getting (in a distracting way).

Topeak DeFender M2 Mountain Bike Fender (Rear)

Topeak DeFender M2 Mountain Bike Fender (Rear)

TOPEAK M2 REAR FENDER

THIS FENDER IS GREAT AND WORKS AS WELL AS THE FRONT M1 FENDER. SAME STYLING AND COOL LOOK. YOU CAN ADJUST IT COUNTLESS WAYS. IT STOPS DEBRIS FROM KICKING UP ON YOUR BACK SIDE AND GREAT ON A RAINY DAY. IF YOU USE A REAR FENDER YOU NEED TO HAVE SOMETHING HOLDING THE BIKE UP WHEN YOUR NOT RIDING LIKE A DISPLAY STAND OR KICK STAND. MOST PEOPLE WHO USE THIS PRODUCT WILL HAVE A HIGH END MOUNTAIN BIKE WHICH USUALLY DOESN'T HAVE A KICK STAND AND THATS WHERE THE FENDER BECOMES A PROBLEM. IF YOU LEAN IT ON SOMETHING THE FENDER WILL USUALLY BE THE FIRST THING LEANING ON THE OBJECT BECAUSE IT STICKS OUT WHICH MAY CAUSE IT TO WARP A LITTLE OR STRESS IT DO TO THE BIKES WEIGHT. YOU COULD LEAN THE BIKE BY THE HANDLE BARS THEN YOUR FINE UNLESS YOU GET HOOKED ON THE BARS AND THE BIKE FALLS (ARGGG). IT'S DEF A GOOD FENDER, YOU JUST NEED TO PLAN THE BIKES STORAGE. I ORDERED THE DISPLAY STANDS AND THE BIKE STANDS FREE AND NO MORE LEANING ON ANY THING. I DIDN'T USE THE REAR FENDER UNTIL I GOT THE STANDS TO SAVE HEADACHES. YOU CAN USE THE FRONT FENDERS WITH OUT ISSUE. THEY ALWAYS STAY OUT OF THE WAY. IF YOU WANT TO USE THE REAR FENDER RIGHT AWAY IT COMES OFF EASILY AND YOU COULD TAKE IT OFF AFTER YOUR RIDE IS DONE SO AS NOT TO SNAG IT ON SOMETHING. I THINK THE STAND IS A BETTER OPTION PLUS YOU CAN WORK ON YOUR BIKE IF NEEDED. VERY DURABLE MATERIALS - GREAT PRICE - GREAT BUY. BIKE SHOPS TRY TO SELL THE CHEAPER VERSION FOR 2WICE AS MUCH.

a nice item

Quick shipping, easy to put the fender on, you have to remove the rear reflector from the bike. The fender will not work for short legged people as it attaches to the seat downrod.

This is a great DeFender

I have no complaints about this product. I bought it because i use my bike nearly everyday. Inevetably it's going to rain and I still need to use my bike. With this product I can ride in the reain and not think twice about getting wet from tire spray. It fits on the seat post easily and comes off just as easily, without needing to remove the post. In addition, it looks pretty cool. Great product, I definately recommend it.

Quality fender with one minor issue

I got this and the M1 (front) fender to keep the skunk stripe off my back in wet weather. I only use this for commuting -- not for offroad rock/dirt protection -- so keep that in mind. Overall, this fender is great quality, and is very versatile. The quick-release clamp actually fits over the seat tube on my '05 Dakar FS. I mention this only because it is designed to fit on the seat post, but the mechanism can be "unscrewed" to fit a lager diameter. The main (black) plastic is rigid, but the tip (gray part) is soft/flexible. This is great for when you -- or someone else -- accidentally bumps into it. The design allows you to set not only the height, but the slope as well. The vertical adjustments lock down with Allen head screws, which is where my *minor* issue comes into play. Even fully screwed-in, the fender can be moved up and down -and- side to side fairly easily. Perhaps this is engineered to keep the rigid nylon pieces from snapping? Although somewhat irrelevant to this item, I *did* encounter an issue with the M1. It broke at the mount on the first day I had it. The customer service at Topeak is awesome though, and I got a replacement part in 2 days!

Slime Smart Tube Schrader Valve Bicycle Tube (26 x 1.75-2.125)

Slime Smart Tube Schrader Valve Bicycle Tube (26 x 1.75-2.125)

slime tubed

The slime tubes are a blessing and i really like how fast my order was taken care of and i wil be ordering again soon...THANKS

useless product

It costs double of regular tube. The green slime just kept on bubbling when there was a puncture.... USELESS

These just don't work.

Bought a couple of these and they work great until you get a flat. Once the puncture happens they leak green goo all over the place, making a complete mess of your tire. They don't work to seal off the leak at all. You might as well just buy regular tubes without the green goo in it. I am going to try liners next to prevent flats. I think the green goo is just a gimmick.

great product

well i have not gotten a flat yet so i would say it is GREAT

Barely sufficient, many drawbacks

I'm a cyclist who predominantly bikes roads with a mountain bike. I do not drive, so cycling is my way of transportation -- that means ~25 years of biking! I've used these tubes over the past 8 months. I purchased 4 tubes, and as of yesterday I'm completely out. There are a lot of negatives to these tubes, but they do provide one positive. The negatives first: * Easily punctured, probably due to cheap rubber being used for the tubes themselves. My destinations are very close (within 1-2 miles at most), and mostly paved streets, as well as a community bike/jogging trail and a park. The latter two mean thorns! * Sufficient for small punctures, e.g. thin pieces of glass or metal, and (if you're lucky) thorns. The smaller the hole, the better chance it is these tubes will work for you. These won't work for metal shards that dig into your tire/tube in a straight like (e.g. a razor), or pinch flats. * Incredibly messy when punctured while riding. The first thing you'll hear is air leaking, followed by neon green slime flying all over the place. * The slime is in no way permanent like a patch would be. Don't let these tubes make you think the slime somehow re-galvanises the rubber tube from the inside out: they don't. * You cannot patch these tubes once punctured. The slime is impossible to clean off (despite the box claiming it's water-soluble), and the patch will never stay. You're absolutely forced to replace the entire tire. * Added weight, combined with a very strange feel when riding (caused by the slime shifting/moving within the tire in somewhat of a coagulated blob). Kids probably won't care, but experienced cyclists will definitely notice the difference. It's enough weight (especially on a mountain bike) that it's worth noting here. The one positive: * These _will_ allow you to get home once the tube is punctured. I've had all 4 punctured, and the procedure works like this: you'll stop to find your frame covered in said slime (hope you have mudguards!) before attempting to find the puncture hole. Assuming you find it, the trick is turning the tire so that the hole is against the ground (allowing the goop to flow via gravity down into the hole). Give it 45-60 seconds to set, and you should be okay for the remaining ride (hope it's a short distance). If air starts to leak again, repeat the process. Tedious, but after a while, it works. The manufacturer would do well to use a different kind of rubber, and advocate thicker/heavier tires. My mountain bike uses incredibly soft tires (I find even the smallest of rocks dug deep into the elevated gripped areas!), which contributes to the problem. The bottom line for me is that these tubes let me make it to work/home in the case I get a flat, but are otherwise worthless. Then again, they're fairly cheap tubes...

Bell Sesame Street Let's Ride Toddler Value Pack (One Helmet Included)

Bell Sesame Street Let's Ride Toddler Value Pack (One Helmet Included)

Be real - it's cute, and might work

The helmet actually looks and feels like it will provide some protection during a fall, and I must say the strapping setup is pretty good to keep the helmet in place. The knee and elbow pads kept this from getting 5 stars because, honestly - they'll save you child from ripping their clothes or skin, but they're not going to provide much impact protection. Take the inclusion of those items with a grain of salt.

Great Helmet For Sesame Street Fans

My son is not quite 2 and he can comfortaby wear the helmet even though it is recommended for kids who are at least 3 years of age. Overall, the helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads are well designed and attractive. It's a great choice for parents and young children who are fans of Sesame Street. There's one drawback on the knee pads and elbow pads. Although they have a sturdy construction, they will tend to pill at the elastic after normal use.

For ages 3 and up only

We ordered these for our twin boys and were surprised when we received them that the age recommendation is for 3 years and up when the Amazon posting says ages 2 to 5 years. So if you are looking for something for a two year old, keep looking.

Schwinn Hinge Folding Bike

Schwinn Hinge Folding Bike

review on Schinn bicycles

I'm very happy with Schwinn's product. They delivered my order in a few days. The product was good quality, and easy to operate. Thank you!!! Lada P.

acceptable folding bike

THE BIKE FOLDS EASILY, IS FUNCTIONAL, AND HAS THE RIDE AND AMENITIES OF A STANDARD SIZED BICYCLE!!

An alternative to a Dahon

Although not as light or well built as a Dahon (Broadwalk model), I find this bike to be a decent alternative. Fenders are made of plastic, luggage rack is convienent, nicely supplied nylon protective bag for the bike in the folded position. Front and rear hand brakes, (no coaster brakes). What I didn't like about the bike is that the crank arm is made of plastic. Although thick, it's just chromed plastic. About $40-60 less than the Dahon Broadwalk.

Bell Furio Bike Helmet

Bell Furio Bike Helmet

Looks great and feels like I'm not wearing anything

This helmet is clearly the best one I've ever owned. My head didn't feel gross and sweaty, and it's pretty light so it didn't even feel like I was wearing a helmet. It's also shaped really well so it isn't much larger-looking than my head. I know it shouldn't matter what your helmet looks like, but it helps that I don't feel like a dork wearing this. I bought the small, black one and I wear a small-sized adult motorcycle helmet. I forgot to look at the sizing chart before ordering but it worked out fine, and there's a little room for adjustment in the back.

Perfect fit for my small head

Me: Age 23, Female, road bike commuter, ~25miles/wk. I have a small head, ordered the small --> it fits PERFECTLY. If you have a similar issue (I was very choosy and tried on many brands in many stores), try the children's sizes, then look up the circumference. This helmet in size small is the same size as the Youth! (I was glad not to have to order neon pink or dinosaurs on rocketships or whatever) Probably would have been cheaper if I bought it at Performance Bikes - they had it on sale last week for $50...but the colors were ugly. I like the black. Excellent helmet overall. Good construction, perfect fit. I'm happy :) And now I probably won't die until I'm like 96.

What an excellent good.

I'm an user from Taiwan. In Taiwan, Bell's helmets sell much more expensive than those from Amazon, almost 40% higher. I'm glad to have a chance to buy one from Amazon with reasonable price. Besides, when I first time put it on, I felt very satisfied because of its lightness and vivid colors. My neck felt no stress and very comfortable when riding. Furthermore, when riding my bike in this helmet, heat generated by my head can be blow away quickly. Therefore, I can ride for much longer time without losing as much energy as wearing my old helmet, even under extremely hot days. I do really recommend this wonderful product for other bicycle riders. Wish you have excellent experences like me.

Fits great, looks cool, keeps cool

I have had this helmet about six months, a gift from my wife and an upgrade from an old Specialized helmet. I use it for street and light trail riding. The adjustable inner band system ensures a great fit which is highly customizable to taste. The straps are comfortable. The helmet is very lightweight and the channels in it really help with the air flow so that, even on hot days here in SoCal, your head stays cool. Feels like you aren't wearing a helmet, so I always wear it (what good is it if you don't?). Wide choice of colors if that is important to you, to match your gear or whatever. Most importantly, though, it meets or exceeds all safety regs and requirements. Highly recommended!

Schwinn Volare 700C Flat Bar Men's Road Bike

Schwinn Volare 700C Flat Bar Men's Road Bike

Great Bike

This is my first time writing a review. I purchased this bike a few days ago and can't be more pleased with the purchase. I took it on about an 8 mile ride (had to break it in). I wasn't sure what I was getting into having previously only owned mountain bikes. I love the flat bar system, being that I am a pretty big guy (I'm about 5'10" and 240lbs) I know I wouldn't like the standard road bike handle bars. The 700c tires get you up to speed effortlessly. I was riding with a good friend of mine who owns a mountain bike (I let him ride it and it convinced him into buying a road bike). Riding downhill was a thrill no need to pedal just let the tires do all the work. I bought the bike wanting to get into a new hobby and also getting back into shape after having knee surgery and gaining about 40lbs. I would recommend taking it to your local bike shop to get a tune up, averages about $40. The only negative I can think of is while I was riding I noticed the chain would rub in certain gears. Having looked and shopped around online and at the local bike shops this bike was definitely worth every cent. Overall, the bike was a great buy for the money, very durable, very comfortable, and very fun!!!

good quality with bad seat

This is good bike with good quality. The worst thing I hate is the seat. very badly designed. You can't even go for 2 miles with comfort. The gears does'nt work from 3 to 2. This is very light bike with easy ride. I have tried for 4 time it will be good once I get better seat. I would recommend it.

excellent bike

wow, what a great road bike. I purchased this bike just a few weeks ago for an alternative way to get to work since my transmission went out on my car and I couldnt afford to fix it or buy a new car. Easy to assemble and I have no prior bike experience. I'm 28 years old and haven't owned a bike since I was about 13 years old. I can't reaally compare this to others but I can say this that this bike is extremely light weight at about 42 pounds with thin tires to pick up speed quickly. I absolutely love this bike and the gears are easy to change and the bike handles the road very well but the schock's aren't the greatest and you will feel every bump on the road. the only thing I could recommend to replace from day one is the seat. The seat is hard as a rock and after a few miles your butt will feel like its on fire. Other than that this bike is great for the road, bike trails, or commuting to work just replace the seat. All in all I give this bike two thumbs up and highly recommend it.

Good Bike for the Money

I have only had the bike for about a week and a half, and probably have somewhere around 30 miles on it so far. I will need to make minor adjustments as the chain rubs on some of the gears (just needs some tweeking). Other than that the only issue is the seat that is seriously the hardest seat I have even been on. If you buy the bike, either go ahead and get a seat cover or another seat from the start....or atleast know that you will probably be needing one. All in all the bike seems really solid, the welds on the frame are uniform, and the bike is very sharp. Normally I have buyers remorse on any purchase like this, but not this time. If I had it to do over again, I would buy the bike in a heart beat.

Great Bike for $250 (Not so sure anymore)

UPDATE 8/16... I've had this bike now for a month or so and have put around 60-70 miles on it and have to say it is really a 3 star, maybe even 2. I have had alot of flats, even after changing the rim tape and putting on new tires. The threads where the pedal connects to the crank stripped out when doing a 30 mile ride, the threads just broke off, which made the pedal wobble and break. I've now had to replace the crank which I should get on Monday. It really seems like I'm spending more time working on this bike than I am riding it. :( I really recommend that you buy a used bike if you're new to riding and looking to see if your interested or go out and buy a quality bike from your Local Bike Shop as this one really can try your patience with all the repairs you have to do. I haven't had a ride yet witout a flat. :( Anyway, don't get it get a used one or a really good new one. Let me start with the Pros: - Light weight - 700c Tires (great for road riding) - Good colors and paint - Easy to assemble - Great parts for price range Cons: Not so many, but I've only had the bike a few days and haven't gone on any long rides yet. - Very hard seat (Cheap and easy to fix) - Assembly of drive train not the best. (for leisure riding it's ok, but I would recommend you either take the bike to a Bike Shop for tuning or learn to do it yourself and tune the deraillers (and brakes) before any long rides) Keep in mind, I mean the assembly as to how they are put on the bike, not the quality of the parts. Thats really all I've noticed so far. You can use this link if you want to learn how to work on bikes it will help you get this one setup correctly. http://bicycletutor.com I think this bike is a great $250 bike for beginners to use for commuting or recreational riding. Yes, you can get better, but not in the less than $350 or so range. I personally bought the bike to begin commuting to work and didn't want to put out a lot of money until I know for sure I will keep it up, later I can buy a new bike or upgrade the parts as they break. The short rides I've taken so far it rode very smooth, stopped very well, and the seat wasn't too bad for how hard it is. If you're in a similar boat as me, then I would buy this one over any other bike in the same range.

Deda Elementi Logo Synthetic Road Bicycle Handlebar Tape

Deda Elementi Logo Synthetic Road Bicycle Handlebar Tape

Great Tape

Easy to apply and very comfortable. The synthetic finish keeps it nice and clean. I have the gold and it stands out nicely.

Deda Cycle Bar Tape

Deda Tape is a good cycling bar tape, it has a semi stick backing to help the bar wrapper keep the tape in place when wrapping it around cycling bars. It comes is a wide variety of colors which is the main reason why I ordered from amazon; I was searching for a darker blue color of a bar tape which Deda had. If I need a spare, I will definitely reorder from Deda.Deda Elementi Handlebar Tape Ocean Dark Blue

Razor Dirt Quad Electric Four-Wheeled Off-Road Vehicle (Red)

Razor Dirt Quad Electric Four-Wheeled Off-Road Vehicle (Red)

Disappointment

Ordered Razor ATV, and was sick with performance. Wouldn't run for more than 10 minutes. Then found that the 30 day return policy expired before grandkids returned from Guam and tried it out. Took to authorized repair facility, they said battery good (but I had called Razor who had said battery probably bad and sent new one.) Repair facilility claimed loose bolt was problem and that battery was ok. Took home, same results. Installed new battery (noticed on one of old batteries that someone had marked in red "bad"). Repair guy said Razor had received batch(es) of bad batteries, which they had to replace. Worked great for one week with new battery; same problem again. Now I'm stuck, have 14 more days on 90 day warranty, but must drive 55 miles each way to repair facility. Am I pleased with performance/service? No way. Would I buy Razor again? No way.

2nd one and the boys love them

This is our second quad and they both run great with no battery issues. I bought the first one at Toys R Us and spent $80 more due to tax and pricing. just make sure you charge them per the instructions.

Fast enough for a 3y old...

It's heavy but great. My son got it for his 3 y.old bday and loved it since then. He has a Huge Hummer witch he thinks it's too slow now. Can't compare how nicer this one is.

Excellent Value - 5yr olds and up

We've had this since Christmas and I think I can make a fair assessment now. Opening the box: The product was undamaged and put together for Christmas morning. It went together in less than 10 minutes. First Run: The batteries would only hold a 5 min charge... but that was enough to get my son excited about the prospect of riding his own quad. Razor got new batteries to us within 10 days. No complaints on the service. (Do not let batteries freeze!!) The batters installed more easily than expected. Battery Life: After charging it up, my 6 year old son got on and was VERY surprised. He rode for over an hour and didn't exhaust the battery. Power: We live on a pretty steep hill and he can ride up and down with no problem. Power is very good... about 1/2 hp, enough to maintain forward motion for a 35 degree slope with a 50lb rider. Top speed is about 9mph... 3x walking speed. It can exceed that on a downhill slope, since it freewheels downhill. I have great video of him doing donuts in the driveway after a light snow. Braking: The disk brake works well, stopping the quad effectively on the downhill side. It has enough strength to skid the tires if necessary. Stability: Our son can run it on a hillside without it tipping, but I woudn't recommend it without adult supervision. The solid rear axle and rigid front mean that in tight turns one tire drags (no differential) and that on uneven surfaces only 3 of the wheels will be in contact with the ground. Fit, Finish, Durability: Construction quality is good all around. It should outlast the powertoy type by a long shot. Maintenance is minimal... keep the chain and bearings lubricated...esp in dirty or wet environments. Summary: As a kid's toy... highly recommended. Be aware of the suspension limitations and all should be well. Cheers!

like a Timex! Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'

We wanted to get something special for our seven-year-old son for Christmas. I saw this quad at a store and thought this looks just right! Save for maybe five days total, this quad has been ridden once or twice a day - seven days a week - since its unveiling Christmas morning. We live in the Upper Peninsula Michigan and this toy has performed well even in some fairly extreme weather. I called customer service about the battery light turning green very quickly (much quicker than the manual indicated) and they simply indicated that I should charge it eight hours minimum and that I needn't worry about overcharging. I followed the manual/directions and did not let the unit sit outside in freezing temperatures but he did ride it frequently in subzero weather with no ill effects. Regardless of the temperatures, my son rides this four wheeler hard and it has not missed a beat. He absolutely loves it! I like it because I don't have to put gas in it, or listen to it, or wrench on it ( besides a quick adjustment once in a while to the brake cable). It is quite stable and he has not rolled it (yet!). From day one, we have steadily had 45 to 60 minute ride times and while I wish the charge time was as short as the ride time, we are very pleased with this purchase. Hundreds of doughnuts in our icy, snowy, steep driveway seem to be just what this little unit was designed for. I can't wait to see my son's smiling muddy face (come spring). I bet it will run a little faster when he's not wearing 10 pounds of winter gear! If I were to re-engineer it, it would have reverse and it would come with two 'quick interchange' batteries so one battery could always be on the charger - similar to a cordless power tool. Being able to park the unit outside in freezing temperatures would be a plus and could be facilitated easily by incorporating heat tape of some sort that took over once the battery reached its charge. The charger port itself has come loose so I'll have to find some way to rig it... perhaps with silicone?... Something so frequently used could certainly have been fastened more rigidly at the factory. Overall though, I would recommend this product highly.... unless you don't like reading and following instructions. Customer service was courteous, prompt and helpful. R. Burger

Bike Peddler Take A Look Helmet Adapter Kit #400 "

Bike Peddler Take A Look Helmet Adapter Kit #400 "

helmet attachment

required to attach bike peddler mirror to helmet. i've had one on a helmet for ten years, very effective adhesive.

Nice product if it's compatible with your helmet

First off, I love the Take A Look mirror. I recommend that product without reservation. That said, this adapter did not work on my Atmos. The positioning of the straps and support system on that particular lid won't let me mount the adapter in any usable position. But I am not going to base my product score on that. I think helmet designs are diverse enough that it would be nearly impossible to design a simple adapter that worked on all of them. But about the adapter, it is just a small piece of plastic with mounting adhesive. It is transparent so it won't be an eyesore when the mirror is not mounted. Simple and effective design. Can't say much more about it. I like the idea of having the option to mount the mirror on my glasses or helmet, and if this product would mount on my hardhat, it would be well worth the price and I would use it and love it. Sorry to report that I cannot use it. I will just continue mounting the excellent mirror on my sunglasses.

The adaptor fell off my helmet

I strongly recommend that people not buy this product. It does not work. It fell off my helmet and would not reattach. It is completely useless and is now sitting in the garbage can. This is unfortunate because the "take a look" mirror is a good product. Too bad this accessory is so lousy.

Nice addition to the mirror

Yes, you will be paying mostly shipping costs for a little piece of plastic, but this is definitely prefferable to mounting the mirror on your glasses and you can just leave it on and forget about it. Good investment but it might be best to have multiple items shipped from the seller to offset shipping costs.
